Cornflake-Chocolate Chip-Peppermint Crunch Cookies
We made it to December and we wanted to share one of our Christmas Cookie finds! Julie found inspiration while leafing through a Family Circle Magazine, and this simplified version quickly became a favorite under the dome we keep in the common kitchen of the Inn. Guests and staff alike found themselves stopping more than once a day to grab these crispy, crunchy, lacy, florentine-like treats to get their taste buds in the holiday spirit!... view full recipe
Green Tomato Bread with Michigan Blueberries
Very similar to a zucchini bread, we have adapted this Allrecipes recipe to be our own. Switching out and adding some ingredients that we like to bake with. We switched All-Purpose flour out for Whole Wheat White to give to more nutrients and we loved the addition of different berries we could use from the farm! It's also a great way to preserve those end-of-season green tomatoes that just don't seem to want to ripen.... view full recipe
Our go-to Dutch Baby Pancake Recipe is one of Martha Stewarts'. It puffs up every time without fail and always creates a beautiful little bowl just waiting to be filled with your fruit of choosing. In the off seasons we use frozen fruit from our garden to make delicious compotes to fill it with, but this is just as good with fresh fruit as well!... view full recipe
Chilled Steel- Cut Coconut Oatmeal
This one will convert anyone who claims to dislike oatmeal (as well as satisfy those who love it). There is some sort of mystical power in steeping steel-cut oats in coconut milk, but what makes this recipe even more unique is that you can add almost anything you are in the mood for….Bananas, coconut flakes, dried fruit, you name it! It compliments even the dreary summer days with its tropical flavors and warm spices. Served…... view full recipe
Roasted and Stuffed Honeynut Squash
It's squash season, and Julie and I could not be happier! In the last couple weeks, we have been sitting at the kitchen counter dreaming and chatting about which squash recipe to try next; creative juices are flowing and we continue to drool over idea after idea of roasted squashes, pumpkin this and pumpkin that, pear and thyme bagel schmears, and so many other warm spiced autumn recipes. These beautiful honeynut squashes are popping up…... view full recipe
Lemon and Michigan Blueberry Zucchini Muffins with Streusel Topping
These muffins quickly became a hit at the inn. We have been able to use so much of our own produce with these muffins, that it is always a proud moment when we can serve them to our guests. We harvest gobs of zucchini from the field every year, and whatever we don’t use and serve right away, we shred and freeze for the rest of the year. This is also one of the many…... view full recipe
The warm and spicy carrot cake pancakes we make here at Goldberry Woods have been adapted from a waffle recipe Julie found. The first time around, she actually FORGOT she was supposed to be making waffles, cooked them as pancakes, and realized they were better that way! The spices get bloomed in the browned butter, which is truly an enlightening experience that will always make your home smell amazing, and your soul might just bloom…... view full recipe
Tres Leches Cake has always been one of our favorites to serve for breakfast. Firstly, because no one ever expects cake for breakfast. Secondly, just because of how delicious this Pioneer Women Recipe is! Paired with one of our Southwestern Style Egg Dishes, this traditional Hispanic cake is sweet and satisfying! You can check out our Chocolate and Pumpkin Variations as well!... view full recipe
When March rolls around, both Carly and Julie get excited because that means Corned Beef Hash and Irish Soda Bread. Originally and Epicurious recipe, this recipe has been with us for a long time. Everyone, we have bake in the kitchen, always makes it a little differently, tossing in their favorite chips, nuts and dried fruit. Nevertheless, it has been tried and true because of its simplicity and how delicious it always is.... view full recipe
We adapted this recipe from Erin Lives Whole. While we did enjoy the original recipe we wanted to a little more interest to it. Julie loves her nuts and dried fruit textures so we bumped up the amount of pecans and added the dried cranberries. We have been steeping our Steel Cut Oatmeal in coconut milk OR Apple Cider for years, and the Apple Cider took this recipe to a new level as well. We have topped…... view full recipe
Cinnamon Swirl Pumpkin Pancakes
This twist on one of our all-time favorite Fall recipes is turning into the only way we make Pumpkin Pancakes now. After hours of scrolling Instagram Reels and so many recipes sent between Julie and Carly, we knew we had to try this one. We took our classic Pumpkin Pancake Recipe and combined it with the makeup of the Cinnamon Swirl from an Instagram account and made something delicious. We still love to make it with…... view full recipe
The Best Morning Granola Recipe
When Carly first made this granola recipe, we knew it was a keeper. Not only was it delicious, but the yield of the recipe was also exactly what we needed for our Bed and Breakfast. It made so much that we could store it and use it for several weeks before needing to make a new batch. And when we are serving anywhere from 2-30 people a day, we needed a recipe that was consistent…... view full recipe

April Fool’s Day Recipe: SunButter Surprise Cookies
We knew we wanted to do something fun and new for April Fool's Day this year. I stumbled upon these when one of the home cook bloggers did a video. I am skeptical most of the time, but I needed to try these myself. With some air exposure the dough will start to turn green while it sits in the fridge overnight, but the surprise is that these cookies should ideally look like normal chocolate…... view full recipe
Green Goddess Sauce Over Hasselback Sweet Potatoes

The Pavlova originates from Australia and New Zealand. Its fluffy layers or meringue and whipped cream are thought to replicate that of Anna Pavlova's Ballerina Tutus. Typically served as one big dessert for the holidays, we have adapted it into smaller individual portions that we serve for breakfast. If you can't have sweets for breakfast, why eat breakfast at all? We love to top this delicate meringue with homemade lemon curd, homemade whipped cream, and…... view full recipe
Both Carly and Julie have a Bohemian/Slovak background, and both grandmothers taught them different recipes that they continue to work to improve each time (but we all know, it's never as good as grandma used to make). This recipe comes from Carly's Babi. Kolachy are made in many different styles from danishes to cookies, square to circular. This is more of a cookie style recipe that Carly grew up loving and always made an appearance…... view full recipe
