Lodging at Our Harbor Country Inn

At Goldberry Woods in Union Pier, Michigan, each moment is a celebration of the Great Outdoors—even private moments in the Great Indoors. The stars of our suites are an array of custom, local artisan-built beds made from natural wood limbs and trunks. These sculptural centerpieces set the earthy tone for your stay—and complement modern luxuries like whirlpool tubs, plush linens, gas fireplaces and abundant natural light.

The spacious cottages allow ample private, pet-friendly lodging for couples and families. Our two newly renovated Vintage Avion Campers are nestled beneath our mammoth white pines for the ultimate glamping experience. Farm-to-table breakfasts at the inn can be added (if available) for $25/person. Our scratch Breakfast includes two courses with coffee/tea/juice.

The Inn

Each of the 8 suites include private bathrooms with large whirlpool tubs/showers, gas fireplaces, streaming TVs, Wi-Fi, custom tree bed frames, and scratch breakfasts each morning. Pets are NOT allowed in the Inn.

American Hornbeam

Rates: $229 - $479

The amazing bed in American Hornbeam dramatically reaches towards the ceiling and fills the room. This second-floor room has cathedral ceilings, carpeted floors, and access to a large deck, which can be shared with Sassafras if the divider is moved. This room is only accessible by a flight of stairs. No children permitted in this room. King-size mattress.

Guests also have full access to property, including heated pool and hot tub (both open year-round!), farm, woods, trails, kayaks, bicycles, yard games, and much more! These amenities are shared, but there are typically plenty for guests to use.

Sassafras

Rates: $229 - $479

The beautifully crooked four-poster bed in this room is made from sassafras, a tree that is found all over Goldberry Woods. This sunny, second-floor room has cathedral ceilings, carpeted floors and has a large balcony, which can be shared with American Hornbeam if a divider is moved. This room is only accessible by a flight of stairs. No children permitted in this room. King-size mattress.

White Birch Suite -

Rates: $199 - $479

This two-room suite is located on the main level and has hardwood floors throughout. The main bedroom features a hand-made white birch bed with king mattress and a long wall of windows. Located in the original part of the inn, it is full of light and farmhouse character.

Pass through your bedroom into a sunny sitting room with two twin beds. The back room also features a table with 4 chairs and is accessed via a 2-inch threshold. Ages 12+ only.

The suite includes over 450 sq feet (42 sq m) of space with a custom king-size bed with luxury linens, sitting room with two twin beds, two-person shower, gas fireplace, leather chair, ceiling fans, Wi-Fi, USB hubs, hairdryer, and a streaming TV with satellite and Blu-Ray/DVD player.

This suite can sleep up to 4 people and is handicap accessible with 7 ft x 4 ft barrier-free marble shower with bench. Base rate for 2 people. Extra people $20/night. Kids 12 and older are allowed.

Cedar Log Suite

Rates: $259 - $529

The Cedar Log Suite offers a secluded hideaway on the lower level and is our largest room. This spacious suite features over 800 sq feet (74 sq m) with a separate family room with two leather sleeper sofas for additional sleeping space (with comfortable gel-foam mattresses; perfect for families), a large streaming TV with satellite and Blu-Ray/DVD player, gas fireplace, multiple ceiling fans, Wi-Fi, USB hubs, hairdryer, a table/chairs area, and a private walk-out deck. This room is only accessible by a flight of stairs. Ages 12+ only.

The spacious bedroom has a four-poster bed made of full-size cedar logs with a king-size mattress and also features a sitting area with sofa and chairs. The private bath features a double whirlpool tub and shower.

This suite can sleep 2-6 people. Base rate for 2 people. Extra people $20/night. Kids 12 and older are allowed.

Driftwood

Rates: $199 - $439

This guestroom boasts one of the most magnificent beds, made from enormous driftwood logs from Lake Michigan. Painted in a soft blue, this large, first-floor room with maple floors makes you feel like you are right at the beach. No children permitted in this room.

This room is accessible (not fully ADA compliant but features 36″ doorways and grab bars by toilet and tub–other 1st floor suites are more accessible).

Ironwood Suite -

Rates: $179 - $399

This two-room suite is located on the main level and has hardwood floors throughout. The main bedroom features a bed frame made of ironwood. Located in the original part of the building, it is full of light and farmhouse character.

Pass through your bedroom into a sunny sitting room (2” threshold) with a beautiful daybed and twin trundle, along with a table and chairs. Ages 12+ only.

The suite includes over 390 sq feet (36 sq m) of space with a custom queen-sized bed with luxury linens, sitting room with daybed and twin trundle (lower twin does not lift up), two-person marble shower, gas fireplace, ceiling fans, Wi-Fi, USB hubs, hairdryer, and a large streaming TV with Satellite and Blu-Ray/DVD player.

This suite can sleep up to 4 people and is handicap accessible with 4 ft x 4 ft barrier-free marble shower. Guests can also utilize the common bathroom which features more accessibility and a shower with bench seat, if desired. Base rate for 2 people. Extra people $20/night. Kids 12 and older are allowed.

Golden Maple

This bright and sun-filled second-floor room features a golden maple hand-built bed with side nook with velvet couch and table and stools. This room has cathedral ceilings, skylight, stone fireplace, and wood floor with area rugs. This room is only accessible by a flight of stairs. No children permitted in this room.

Silver Maple

This bright and serene second-floor room features a custom silver maple artisan-made bed. This room has cathedral ceilings, skylight, stone fireplace, and wood floor with area rugs. This room is only accessible by a flight of stairs. No children permitted in this room.

The Cottages

Cottages feature more room for couples or families and include full kitchens, laundry, screen porches, fire pits, gas grills, luxurious linens, and more. Cottages are pet friendly.

Creekside Cottage -

Rates: $249 - $999

Step out the front door of Creekside Cottage and you will see Goldberry Woods’ beautiful organic farm and orchard. The back door leads to a spacious screened porch overlooking our ravine and creek. Creekside’s 1300 square feet include 3 bedrooms (sleeps up to 8), 2 full baths (with whirlpool tub in master bath), fully stocked kitchen with dining area and breakfast bar, laundry room, living room with wood-burning stone fireplace, Wi-Fi, and large streaming TV with satellite and Blu-ray/DVD player.

Book Now Features

Outside amenities include a screened-in porch, gas grill, fire pit, firewood, and outdoor seating with string lights. The cottage is surrounded by nature and is 75 yards from the pool/hot tub area and 130 yards from the main inn. The cottage includes a queen master bedroom, a queen in the second bedroom, two twins in the third bedroom, and ample leather sectional in the living room. Pets are allowed.

Breakfast at the inn is not included with cottage accommodations but can be added, if available during your stay. River’s Edge Cottage

Rates: $349 - $1299

River’s Edge Cottage is a sprawling, mid-century ranch home (2900 square feet) with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, its own yard, stunning views of the Galien River, and privacy for your family (up to 12). A short walk through the green garden gate takes you to Goldberry Woods’ property and amenities.

River’s Edge is brimming with tons of updates and lots of character. The updated kitchen with new appliances and breakfast bar opens to the sprawling living room with magnificent river views, oversized leather sectional sofa, large streaming TV with DVD and cable, and a gas fireplace for cool nights. White, painted wood floors keep the space fresh and casual mixed with mid-century furniture reminiscent of the origins of the house. The formal dining room, decorated in local dune grass art, seats 12 and looks out to the screened-in porch with views of the river and woods. The pet-friendly cottage also features luxury linens, Wi-Fi, and laundry.

One wing of the house features a large bunk room, while the other wing features the three other bedrooms and baths, including two master suites, as detailed below.

Deerpath Cottage

Rates: $249 - $999

This family-friendly cottage is located next door to Creekside Cottage. The 1,600 sq feet of space is filled with new updates and antique charm. The house offers 3 bedrooms (sleeps 6 with Queen master, Queen, and twin with twin trundle) and 2 full baths, with Jacuzzi tub in master and shower in hall bath, living room with large streaming TV with satellite and DVD, and laundry room.

Book Now Features

It is nestled among our organic farm, orchards, and woods along the Galien River and backs up to a wooded ravine with a creek. Access to the heated pool and spa tub is included. Our farm-to-table breakfasts from the Inn may also be arranged, depending on availability, $25/person.

The full kitchen is outfitted with appliances, dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware. The dining area seats 6+. The cottage also features a large, screened porch overlooking the woods/ravine/creek with table and chairs. There is also a Weber gas BBQ grill with picnic table and private fire pit. Guests may also enjoy the hiking trails through the woods, use our kayaks on the river (direct access), play on our large play set (featuring swings, a slide, and climbing walls), borrow bikes to ride through the area, or play some of our yard games including badminton, bags, or bocce.

Vintage Campers

Campers provide private accommodations for couples under the trees. Each camper features a bathroom with small tub/shower, kitchen, luxury bedding, deck and outdoor seating, fire pit, and gas grill. Campers are pet friendly.

Fauna – 1969 Avion

Rates: $219 - $499

Our dearest Fauna is a Vintage Avion built locally in 1969 in nearby Benton Harbor, Michigan. She is our goddess of the forest, and you will sneak peaks of many of the woodland creatures you can find in our woods in her décor. We bought her partially renovated, but we labored over her details so that she would know that Goldberry loves her through and through. She is bright and friendly, and she hopes you will come and stay awhile, enjoying her comforts while looking out upon Goldberry’s Woods, ancient orchards, and native prairie.

The camper is located further back on our property at the edge of the woods under magnificent tall white pine trees. Features include a fully stocked kitchen with microwave, fridge and induction range, bathroom with small tub/shower, air conditioning and heat, luxury linens and towels, a deck with chairs, firepit and firewood, and a gas grill. The camper is pet friendly ($20/day per pet).

Breakfast at the inn is not included with camper accommodations but can be added, if available during your stay. Please let us know at least 24 hours ahead of arrival if you are interested in adding breakfast ($25/person), and please advise us in advance of any dietary concerns/allergies.

Have you ever been camping before? While we have made our vintage ladies as luxurious as possible, the campers are smaller in nature and we cannot be responsible for the bugs outdoors nor inclement weather. Please view our policies for further information.

Flora – 1971 Avion

Our sweetest Flora is a Vintage Avion Camper, built locally in 1971 nearby in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Her people used to love to take her on all kinds of adventures, but they had grown tired of her upkeep and left her sitting lonely. We lovingly restored her with our own hands, adding modern sunflower prints, a mid-century sofa, and bright Boho details. She is absolutely glowing from all the pampering, and she cannot wait for you to come visit and remind her what a true flower she is!

Rent the Inn

The Inn at Goldberry Woods is a 6,500 square-foot modern farmhouse inn that can be rented for your private group, reunion, retreat, holiday, or small wedding/elopement. We offer a 10% discount to all 7+ night stays.

Rent the Inn

The Inn at Goldberry Woods, normally run as a bed and breakfast, can be rented for your private group most any time of year! The 6,500 square-foot modern farmhouse inn can comfortably sleep 16-24 people in the 8 suites (3 suites with extra beds/bedrooms–great for families), each with private bathroom with double whirlpool tub and shower, luxury linens, and gas fireplace. Dining room seating for 24 plus living room, sunroom, and multiple outdoor decks for spreading out and relaxing!

Full use of our newly remodeled kitchen is included with a rental of the Inn, as well as use of the Weber gas grill and laundry room. We also have a collection of board games, puzzles, books, and DVD/Blu-rays for you to use. Cozy up next to our wood-burning stoves or gas fireplaces (10 in the iInn!), play a game or puzzle on our game tables, relax in our heated pool or outdoor hot tub, or explore our vast property and surrounding area.

The 8 rooms/suites feature a total of 11 private sleeping areas and 14 different beds.
