Our tried-and-true gold standard for a pancake. Made with Whole Grains and crisped up in butter, topped with fruit and homemade whipped cream is the best way to enjoy these pancakes that have been with us since day one.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup plus 2 Tablespoons Whole Wheat White Flour (All Purpose Flour optional)
  • 1/2 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 1 Egg

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, mix together: buttermilk, oil, egg, vanilla, oats. Let stand while you prep dry ingredients.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine: Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Salt, and Sugar.

  3. Pour wet ingredients into bowl with dry ingredients. Fold together gently trying to incorporate all dry spots while not over mixing the batter.

  4. Preheat electric griddle to 350 or skillet on stove. Once preheated, melt butter and dollop batter into butter.

  5. Pancakes will begin to set and bubble around the edges. When they do you can flip them over. Let cook for a few more minutes before serving.
