Our tried and true “plain” pancake. Fried up in butter, topped with fruit and homemade whipped cream is the best way to enjoy these pancakes that have been with us since day one.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup plus 2 Tablespoons AP or Whole Wheat White Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 1 Egg

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, mix together: buttermilk, oil, egg, vanilla, oats. Let stand while you prep dry ingredients.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine: Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Salt, and Sugar.

  3. Combine ingredients in blender and mixing bowl.

  4. Preheat electric griddle to 350 or skillet on stove. Once preheated, melt butter and dollop batter into butter.

  5. Pancakes will begin to set and bubble around the edges. When they do you can flip them over. Let cook for a few more minutes before serving.
