A few years ago Julie’s mom, Eileen, came to Goldberry Woods for her annual summer visit with a van filled to the brim with scavenged treasures. She had come up with the idea to create a scavenger hunt along the wooded trails at the back of the property. Being that she is a woman who loves quirky garden projects, this wasn’t an unusual.
After Eileen unloaded all of her items, and figured out clever puns for their grouping, it was time to hang up her treasures throughout the woods. This would be a difficult task for anyone as there are many fallen trees and bramble patches. However, Eileen, dubbed Nana by everyone at Goldberry Woods, had decided to tackle the project without a lick of help. This is important to note because she is not the most athletic person. And Julie only became aware of the situation after Eileen started calling for assistance from the top of a tree because she was afraid she might fall out of it (but don’t worry, no grandmas were harmed in the making of this scavenger hunt).
So to honor all that hard work, we recently restored the scavenger hunt to its original glory and even added a few more items! Use the list below to see if you can find them all!
- Port of Potties
- Ruins of Atlantis
- Writer’s Block
- Chairy Trees
- Let it Snow
- Horsin’ Around
- Flower Bed
- Deer to be Different
- Rustic Garden
- Child’s Play
Good luck out there and don’t forget to have fun!
